Wooden, John. 1997. Wooden: A Lifetime of Observations and Reflections on and off the Court. Mcgraw-

Wooden shares anecdotes from life lessons he picked up from his parents and well into his years as head coach of the UCLA Bruins Men’s Basketball team. He is a man of grit and unwavering determination, who emphasizes the importance of family and of teamwork. He is quoted to have said that he didn’t always have better players than the other team as individuals However, his team's preparation was always so thorough and always emphasized the whole over the few. Using this method, they were usually victorious. Both Wooden’s records on and off the court reflect the merit of his statements. His anecdotes on preparation run directly parallel with the performance psychology explored in Greene and Werners books as well.
